What We Do

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Missouri (BBBSCMO) makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult mentors (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through 18.

As an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, BBBSCMO utilizes research-based mentoring practices to develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of hundreds of young people in mid-Missouri.

There are over 270 BBBS affiliates across the U.S. BBBSCMO has been working to support the youth of mid-Missouri for over 50 years

What it Means to be a “Big"

As a Big, you can make a real impact. All it takes is spending a few hours a month with one child here in your community, doing activities together like:

Playing video games
Shopping
Making a meal together
Making art
Attending sporting events
Hiking
Going to the movies
And anything else you are passionate about…

When Matched with a Big

Pairing up with a Big can have a tremendous amount of impact on a Little’s life. From higher educational aspirations to a better understanding of the world around them, the impact is clear.
