What is Bowl for Kids’ Sake?
Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of America’s signature fundraiser. Each year half a million people across America come together to have fun and raise money to support their local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapters as we change how children grow up! Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the perfect way for individuals to make an impact on our community – it only takes a little bit of effort to raise the money that is vital to our program’s success.
Where does the money go?
Thanks to our corporate sponsors, 100% of your donation goes directly to help serve local children. Big Brothers Big Sisters depends on donations to conduct background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety; and provide ongoing support for children, families, and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships.
Your role in this effort to help local children cannot be overstated: We need your help to raise community awareness of the challenges faced by local children and to ask for the financial support need to help change the trajectory of a child’s life.
What Does a Team Captain Do?

Step 2: We request a minimum of $200.00 per team which can be paid by check to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Missouri, 4250 E. Broadway, Suite 1067, Columbia, MO 65201. This can also be paid on the team donation website after it is created via credit card. You can also meet this minimum by:
Making a single contribution yourself.
Fundraise from family, friends, or coworkers to meet your minimum (or more!).
All team members fundraise to raise your team’s total combined minimum.
Step 3: Recruit 4 to 7 folks to join you to create a team of 5 to 8 people. It could be friends, family, or co-workers.
Step 4: Have Fun! Join us at the LevelUp in the Columbia Mall. Bowl on Friday, February 21 or on Saturday, February 22. Remember, it’s not about how good of a bowler you are, it’s just about showing up and having a good time!
Step 5: Say THANK YOU! Don’t forget to say thank you to the people who donated to you! Call or email them after the event to let them know how much money the event was able to raise and thank them for their support to raise those funds!
